A Little Selfish is Good…

Today I sold my first painting(s) at office. My meticulous colleagues being the potential patrons, had the prerogative to choose the price. It would be plainly dishonest to say that money didn’t matter at all, but it sort of did and didn’t at the same time. It didn’t matter because I am blessed with adequacy and have nothing to complain about. It did matter because this world still needs all that we can give and share and rightfully so, I consider this a privelge to be able to lend my hand to some of those many many furry-four-pawed-man’s-bestfriends in my country that need all the love and affection. And to be able to do this by something as simple as selling a painting, I consider myself lucky. To quote Joey from Friends, “There’s no completely unselfish good deed. Even good deeds make you feel good, and you do them to feel good unconsciously.” I am guilty of this and it does feel good knowing that someone’s life would be if not enriched, in the least a tad better because of my one miniscule gesture. What’s more is the warmth and meaningful embrace from my colleagues and their willingeness to buy these paintings gives me hope as well as motivation. This is what we immensely need now, today and for the many tomorrows ahead.
